IHE HINAKAGA- 1031 Men's Debate The men's debate squad participated in about twenty debates this year, not counting the contests at the Pi Kappa Delta Convention. The Carroll teams met teams from Ripon, Beloit, Lawrence, North Central, Lake Forest, and Marquette. The Mid-West question of Disarmament was used in most of the debates, namely, "That the United States should adopt an immediate policy of national disarmament, disregarding the action of any other nation." Most of the debates were of the non-decision type. A feature of the debating season was the debate with Marquette before Chapel on February 28. This was received with much enthusiasm and in¬ terest. The debate before the radio was also an innovation for forensic work here. The fact that over one hundred fifty students attended the first debate of the year with North Central is indicative of the great interest shown in debate by the student body. [50]
