Court, Kingston, Schroeder, Smith, Grittinger, Pearson, Hamilton, Vettels Twentieth Annual Spring Festival As the queen, Helen Smith, ascended the throne, the curtain opened on one of the most beautiful pageants enacted on Carroll's campus. The pageant was divided into four episodes, represented by actors wearing colorful and interesting costumes apphcable to the era that each portrayed. The graceful minuet, humorous "Raggedy Ann," colorful national dances, snappy step dances, Grecian dances—all depicted a scene that attracted the eye and appealed to the sense of beauty. The climax came with the introduction of Martha and George Washington, who claimed the old-fashioned dances the winners of the day. Success of the festival was due to the untiring efl'orts of Loella Luhrsen, the May Day chairman; Grace Hebert, costume chairman; and Kathryn MuUigan, Assistant Director of Physical Education for Women.
