Tennis and Golf Watson Perry Donald Manecke Clyde York Louis Beach Millard Hecker John Herman Frederick Bode Harvey Lhost Henry Peterson Dr. Beidatsch Warren Teichler Robert Cochran The tennis team was composed of York, Hecker, Perry, Herman, Manecke and Beach. The tennis season was not especially successful. The Orange squad fell before Lawrence and Beloit, then trimmed Ripon. The two matches with State Teachers go into the "loss" column. Hecker was the top singles man and York and Beach the best doubles combination. All of the team received their letters. With the return of Cochran and Teichler, veterans from '37, the golf team found itself in pretty fair condition for the 1938 season. They lost to Lawrence and Beloit, but beat Ripon and State Teachers for on average of .500. In the state meet, they tied with Lawrence for second place and were able to give letters to Cochran, Teichler, Bode, Petersen and Lhost. Page 139
