HINAKAGA Jenkins, Soulman, Field, Bockhaus, Aboya, Dietz Hummel, Lightbody, Palmer, Peterson, Prichard, Quaintance "See you up in the 'Hinky' office in about a half hour." These were famous last words of the "Hinky" staff. It will be a cold, cold night before either the editors or business managers forget those many months of fun and work on the Hina¬ kaga (with most of the emphasis on the work). First come the trips to the engrav¬ ing and printing offices; then the signing of contracts; weeks of planning the book; and when fall arrived the actual work began. Arranging for portrait work and group pic¬ tures took up much of Bob Soulman's time. Many of the informal snaps were taken by Fred Miller and Ed Hummel. Then come the mounting of the pictures with Art Quaint¬ ance, Midge, Sheila, and Bob all busy put¬ ting rubber cement on the pictures and them¬ selves as well, while Peg Lightbody was struggling with the art work. After the pic¬ tures were finally mailed off to the engrav¬ ers, there came the job of finishing up copy which was written by Mary Jone Dietz and Jean Palmer, who took care of the activities section, Fred Alexander, Senior editor, and John Aboya, Sports editor. Marcella Peter¬ son did a swell job of writing the Junior verses. While all this was going on, Lloyd and Sheila were finding out the hardships of getting ads. During Easter vacation come many hours of work at Jean Prichard's finishing up the writeups, and getting all the written work typed. At lost all was completed, and the "Hinky" office was closed at the end of another busy year. [43]
