The Green Knights took the lead in the last quarter on a brace of free throws and then a free throw by Holm cut their lead to one point. A last second shot by Taylor slipped out of the basket and Carroll lost their tenth game of the season. Plennings was again high scorer for Carroll while Wondrash led the Green Knights in scoring. Carroll 38- Lake Forest 36 Carroll snapped back into the win column after a nine game losing streak and pulled a surprise win out of the bag from Lake Forest by a 38 to 36 count. Lake Forest led throughout the game but a Pioneer rally in the last four minutes cut a Lake Forest 8 point lead down to a tie score. Hal Taylor pushed the winning basket home seconds before the horn sounded and the squad tasted victory for the second time in twelve games. Hennings and Hoch were the big guns of the Pioneer attack with their scoring and re¬ bound work. Bell was the leading scorer for the Foresters. Carroll 40 Ripon 35 Carroll avenged the defeat handed to them by the Redmen of Ripon in their previous game to the tune of a 40 to 35 victory. Start¬ ing slow, the orange squad trailed until the last five minutes when a rally put them into a five point lead which they never lost. Miller led the scoring for Ripon with five points. A tight Carroll defense limited Krcmar and Rember, Ripon's high scoring pair, to 6 points between them. Hennings again led his team with seven points with the rest of the points being well distributed. The victory was a sweet one for the Pioneers and heightened their spirits for the last game of the year. Carroll 24 Lawrence 21 111 their last game the Carroll cagers wound up the season in fine fashion by winning a close one from the Vikings of Lawrence by a score of 24 to 21. The victory avenged a previous defeat handed them at the Vikings' hands. Again Carroll came from behind to win. Trailing by six points at the half the Pioneers came from behind in the closing minutes on a basket by Taylor and a free throw to clinch victory. A tight Carroll de¬ fense held Fredrickson, Lawrence ace in¬ effective, and Crosset was leading scorer for the Vikings. Hoch led the Carroll squad in scoring with six points, all scored on free throws. The game closed the cage season and marked the last college game for Hoch and Dem¬ ming, only seniors on the squad. The squad closed the season with the unimpressive record of 4 wins and 10 defeats. Hennings led the team in scoring with a total of 95 points scored on 29 field goals and 37 free throws. After the last game Ned Demming was elected Captain of the year by his team¬ mates. The following men received letters: Demming, Hoch, Penny, Reega, Dalecky, Holm, Marks, Fiedler, Taylor, Hennings, and Hayes.
